Cooroy Eumundi to challenge for semis after Christmas

Cooroy Eumundi will be looking to move back up the ladder in Sunshine Coast Cricket’s Third Grade when they play Palmwoods at Palmwoods first up after the Christmas break.

The Cougers will need a win over Palmwoods, in a one dayer, to stay within first innings points of fourth spot on the overall ladder.

There is a sense of optimism at Cooroy. A competitive 12 point loss to top of the table Maroochydore Red showed why.

“It’s actually going pretty good this year,” Cooroy Eumundi All Rounder Matthew Christensen said.

“There have been quite a few wins.

“A couple of losses we could a have won.

“We’ve had players in and out. So we’ve been doing pretty good.”

The run home looks promising with three of the side’s five games after Christmas being at home.

Palmwoods and a local derby against Tewantin Noosa are the only away games left.
