Yandina get outright win over Maroochydore

Yandina picked up an outrught win on Saturday in their third grade game against Maroochydore Red after leading on first innings.

“[It’s] good to get the chocolates and pretty comprehensive outright win for the boys,” said Yandina player Jesse Ritchie.

Yandina sit on top of Sunshine Coast Cricket’s third grade ladder now an outright win ahead of second place.

“We’ve pretty much maintained that position for the season the whole way through,” Ritchie said.

“And really just positive feeling within the sheds, all the boys trying to build towards the end of the year and get some form.”

With three matches left it appears increasingly likely the Pioneers will host a semi final and, if they qualify, the Grand Final.

“I think the home semi and the home final is pretty crucial this time of the year,” Ritchie said.

“We get a little bit of weather here and around and even just to take some momentum into the finals.

“It’s always good to be on the top and know you’re playing good cricket.
