“That was a tough one today,” said Caloundra captain Kane Frew.

“4-1 result. Definitely not our best match or best 90 for the season.”

The side was missing a few senior players but aren’t using that as excuse.

“We’re going to have to work really hard at training this week at training. And watch the video back and really get back to basics.”

Caloundra had a good crack in the final 20 minutes missing shots by the width of the woodwork.

“I think the second half was a lot better than the first half. The last 20 we really had a crack. To their credit they kept pushing too and got a couple of goals.

“We scored one straight after half time and then they go and score straight off the corner.”

FQPL 1 side North Star has been drawn as Caloundra’s next opponent in the Australia Cup preliminaries.

“We look forward to the Cup. Everyone likes playing the Cup. That’s a one game show.”

That game is scheduled for April 29.

“We won’t be worrying about just yet. We’ll worry about South West Queensland [in the league].”

Caloundra host the Toowoomba based side on Saturday.
